Adesso Ships New, Stylish Mini Wireless 2.4 GHz Keyboards for Mobile, POS, and Business Applications

15 May 2005

Adesso Inc., a leading manufacturer and distributor of innovative and stylish keyboards, tablets, mice, touchpads, and input peripherals, today announced general availability of its new line of 2.4GHz wireless keyboards with built-in TouchPad pointing technology. 2.4GHz allows the keyboard to roam freely from the main terminal or PC without the need for close proximity or line of sight. The new WKB 4000 series are available today through Ingram Micro; direct vendors including AMAZON, Buy.com, PC Mall, CDW, PC Connection, Provantage and Insight; and retail stores such as Fry’s and Micro Center; and through leading catalogs including CDW, PC Mall and PC Connection.

The WKB series is smaller and thinner in design and is ideal for mobile, point-of-sale (POS) and business environments. The simple shape and distinct design provides users with an input solution that is simple and compact. The Adesso wireless SlimTouch keyboards complement contemporary PC systems and flat LCD monitors in modern office environments while also providing the necessary input capabilities for POS terminals where space is constrained. They can also be placed in conference room, auditoriums, and other presentation environments and can instantly go mobile easily fitting in a briefcase or backpack. When on the road, the USB mini-receiver plugs directly into a notebook or another PC providing connectivity up to 20 feet.

The WKB-4000 SlimTouch keyboard features an ultra-slim, ultra-stylish design with clean lines and an integrated touchpad. The integrated GlidePoint touchpad takes the place of the traditional mouse. The touchpad is easy to use enabling users to simply glide their finger over the touchpad to guide the cursor. The MSRP for WKB-4000 is $129.99.

The WKB-4000 includes two built-in buttons for familiar mouse performance as well as an embedded numeric keypad and 12 function keys for one-touch commands. They feature low-profile tactile keys for quieter typing and membrane key switches, which ensures longer life.

“Our new wireless mini keyboards provide all of the input functionality of full-size keyboards as well as integrated pointing solutions in a compact, innovative design,” said Allen Ku, CEO of Adesso, Inc. “The professional-grade WKB series enable desktop performance in a variety of computing environments ranging from POS, presentations, and mobile computing.”
