Airport Wireless Retail Stores To Offer Audiofy Audiobook Chips («Bookchips») at International Airport Hubs in Ten States

6 December 2005

Airport Wireless, the top airport consumer electronics reseller, and Audiofy Corporation, a premier digital audiobook publisher, today announced that Airport Wireless will offer Audiofy audiobook chips for sale at more than twenty airport stores, including international airport hubs spanning the U.S. eastern seaboard and a retail outlet at San Francisco International Airport. The announcement represents an expansion of a recent pilot sales test program at Philadelphia International Airport.

«We're excited to be offering these popular audiobook titles for business and recreational travelers,» said David Goldschmidt of Airport Wireless. «Audiofy titles play seamlessly on the mobile gear that today's frequent travelers consider essential equipment – Microsoft Windows laptops and desktop computers, Palm and Microsoft Pocket PC handheld PDAs, Palm Treo and Windows Mobile smartphones, and the company's inexpensive Audiofy Player.»

«Airport Wireless is a major player in the airport system. Now, our digital audiobook titles can be enjoyed by the technology enthusiasts that are generating nonstop foot traffic at their stores,» said Peter D. Nalle, Audiofy's CEO. «Unlike traditional audiobooks on stacks of CDs or cassettes, each Audiofy title is contained on a single stamp-sized audiobook chip that fits easily into carry-on luggage, and Airport Wireless is able to offer a wide selection of titles at sites where shelf space is at a premium. Airport Wireless is also demonstrating how Audiofy audiobook chips offer a retail opportunity superior to audiobook downloads. Audiofy audiobook chips can be purchased on the spur of the moment, for personal enjoyment and as last-minute gifts, even by travelers without Internet-equipped laptops or ample time to download and sync before their next flight.»

Every Audiofy audiobook chip can be played on a variety of devices with SD memory card expansion slots, including Microsoft Pocket PC handheld PDAs and Windows Mobile smartphones running Pocket PC 2002 or later, and Palm handheld PDAs and Treo smartphones running Palm OS 5.2.1 or later. The chips will play on desktop and laptop computers running Microsoft Windows XP or Windows 2000, as well as Apple PowerBook and iBook laptops and Apple Power Mac, iMac and Mac mini computers running Mac OS X 10.3 and above, using any available SD memory card expansion slot or a low-cost USB adapter.

Additionally, the Audiofy Player offers an inexpensive alternative for customers to listen to audiobook chips without any need for a computer. The $29.95 player is pocket-sized, weighs just ounces, and is easy to use whether you are driving, commuting, exercising or just on the living room sofa. All Audiofy products comply with the «Audiobook Compatible» standard established by the Audio Publishers Association and the Consumer Electronics Association.

About Audiofy Corporation

Audiofy is a leading developer of digital audiobook solutions and the publisher of «audiobooks on chips.» Audiofy's titles include the Pimsleur line of spoken audio foreign language training courses from Simon & Schuster, best-selling business audiobooks from Soundview Executive Book Summaries, a range of fiction and non-fiction titles from Gildan Media Corporation, InAudio and Jimcin Recordings, and spiritual titles from Litchfield Associates and Covenant Press.

Audiofy audiobook chips are available for sale at www.audiofy.com, www.pimsleurdirect.com and many other online retailers. Audiofy delivers an innovative audiobook platform and services for the world's spoken audio and audiobook content, enabling publishing partners to rapidly and cost effectively launch complete, customized digital audiobook titles.
