Aruba Requires CWNP Certification for Ace Program25 January 2005
The CWNP Program, the industry standard for wireless LAN training and certification, today announced that Aruba Wireless Networks (Aruba) will require the CWNA certification as part of Aruba's ACE Program.
The Aruba certification program is the first-of-its-kind focused on the requisite technologies essential to building and deploying secure enterprise-class 802.11 wireless LAN environments.
"CWNP is so invaluable to helping us ensure the highest quality of training and education to our resellers and channel partners, that we made it a requirement," said Keerti Melkote, co-founder and VP of Product Marketing and Management for Aruba Wireless Networks. "Today's enterprise network and the technologies used to build and operate it are changing so fast that people just can't keep up. CWNP has literally become an essential business tool that lets us offer the best possible integration services with what we believe is the best secure mobility system on the market today. The result is real value that we can deliver to enterprises everywhere."
Successful course graduates will demonstrate expertise in a variety of technical areas including RF/wireless, TCP/IP and Ethernet networking, wired and wireless security, as well as Aruba-specific knowledge (including network planning, design, and configuration of Aruba products). Through a combination of written and practical (lab) exams, candidates can achieve certification as an Aruba Certified Expert (ACE) - a credential that signifies mastery of the skills necessary to deploy and manage the most advanced wireless LAN networks in the world.
"The leaders in the wireless LAN marketplace are those companies that have the best trained sales people, VARs, and systems engineers," says Kevin Sandlin, CEO and co-founder of the CWNP Program. "CWNP provides the vendor-neutral training about wireless technologies that companies need to help increase their sales, as well as design and maintain wireless networks that are more reliable, cost-effective, and secure. We are very excited Aruba has become the first wireless LAN vendor to require CWNA as a pre-requisite to their own certification."
ACE certification exams will be available for resellers and customers on February 1st, 2005.
