Ascom Completes Industry's First Comprehensive ROI Study On "Smart Integration'' for Hospitals31 May 2005
Ascom(R) Wireless Solutions Inc. is pleased to announce that they have just completed and published the industry's first comprehensive ROI study demonstrating the benefits of integrating multiple hospital systems with Ascom wireless communication solutions.
The study clearly demonstrates the value of "Smart Integration" with the Ascom wireless solution by showing improvements in staff efficiency, helping ensure patient safety and satisfaction as well as increasing employee morale. Ascom engaged X-Future Consulting Group AB, a Swedish-based industrial engineering consulting firm that specializes in workflow analysis and productivity improvement services to lead the data collection and analysis efforts.

This study was performed at Sampson Regional Medical Center in Clinton, NC. SRMC has fully deployed and integrated the complete Ascom communication solution package with the hospitals MEDITECH HCIS Order Entry and LIS module, as well as their Rauland-Borg nurse call system, Johnson Controls building management system, Edwards Systems Technology smoke and fire alarm system and will soon add their Philips patient monitoring system. All of these system integrations have provided incomparable value to both administration and clinical staff within the hospital. Ascom is also actively working with Agfa on a RIS/PACS integration for SRMC.
