AskMeNow & Rogers Wireless partner to launch the ultimate mobile information platform12 April 2006
Rogers Wireless, Canada's leading wireless carrier (TSX: RCI; NYSE: RG), and AskMeNow, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Ocean West Holding Corporation (OTCBB: OWHC), today announced an agreement to make AskMeNow and AskMeAnything available through Rogers Wireless in Canada. Rogers Wireless is the first carrier to launch the AskMeNow mobile information platform nationally and make it available to all its BlackBerry users. For the first time, Rogers customers have easy access to a wide variety of content such as directory assistance, flight times, headline news, hotels, directions, weather, stock quotes, sports scores, and a host of other local information through AskMeNow's information platform. They will also have the ability to ask virtually any question through the service's proprietary AskMeAnything feature. "As Canada's leading wireless carrier, we strive to provide businesses with all the necessary applications to meet their varying wireless needs," says John Boynton, Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer, Rogers Wireless Inc. "With AskMeNow and AskMeAnything, our customers now have the ultimate mobile information tool available to them, allowing them to save time by doing more with their wireless device." AskMeAnything allows its user to access specific information from the Internet by asking questions through a natural language text input application directly on their cell phone or PDA. This service is also available to customers roaming in one of any 80 countries, allowing them to ask questions from the Internet or from any of ten, easy to use content categories - no matter where they are. AskMeNow sends a specific and relevant answer back to the phone in moments for a small automated fee of $0.75 CAD per question billed directly to the customer's monthly statement. "Mobile providers want customers to get the most from their handsets the minute they buy them," says Darryl Cohen, AskMeNow CEO. "Rogers' decision to support AskMeNow validates how integral the service has become to mobile users. We are giving Rogers an ability to provide customers with immediate instant answers - regardless of where they are." Rogers Wireless customers can now download the AskMeNow application to their BlackBerry from the Rogers Business Navigate deck within the Business Applications folder and take advantage of a 30-day free promotional period.
