Battery & Wireless Announces Appointments21 January 2005
The Board of Directors of Battery & Wireless Solutions Inc. (TSX VENTURE:BWS - News; "BWS") are pleased to announce the appointment of Robert Murray to the Board effective immediately. Mr. Murray brings to the Board an extensive background in independent business having started and operated several successful enterprises over the past 20 years. Mr. Murray presently owns and operates a Human Resources consulting business based in Vancouver, British Columbia. Mr. Murray has been associated with the Company and its operations for many years and accordingly brings a significant depth of knowledge regarding the battery business and plans for executing the 2005 operating plan.
At a Board Meeting held on January 13th, the Board approved the 2005 Operating Plan. Among other matters, the Plan calls for the Company to complete the national distribution network for Magnacharge Battery Corporation through establishing physical distribution centres in Quebec, the Maritimes and the Prairie provinces this year. Incremental growth in revenue is expected to result from leveraging existing customer relationships in Western Canada as the Company expands eastward. Much of the Magnacharge dealer networks will also serve to support the concurrent growth of BWS' Battery World division. Additional details with respect to the operating plan will be disclosed as material agreements affecting the plan are executed.
The Board is also pleased to announce that Michael Bartlett, currently a director of the Company has been appointed the Non-Executive Vice-Chairman effective immediately. Mr. Bartlett will work closely with the Chief Executive Officer and the Chief Financial Officer as the 2005 operating plan is executed, in addition to assisting with strategic planning, market related activities and capital formation. Mr. Bartlett has significant experience with this process and will be a valued participant in this process.
The Board also announces the Company has entered into investor relations agreements with Mr. Mike Tymo and Mr. Brad Moynes for the purpose of providing more effective communication with shareholders, other stakeholders and the investment community.
