Battery & Wireless Opens Quebec Operations11 March 2005
The Board of Directors of Battery & Wireless Solutions Inc. (TSX VENTURE:BWS) (the "Company") is pleased to announce that further to a press release issued on January 27, 2005 regarding the Company's intention to establish a distribution centre in Quebec, effective today facilities including a warehouse, distribution centre and sales offices have been opened in Montreal, Quebec, by the Company's subsidiary, Magnacharge Battery Corporation. All personnel necessary to operate in Quebec have also now been hired and accordingly the Company has formally established its presence in that Province.
With the opening of the Quebec distribution centre, Battery & Wireless Solutions will have the unique opportunity to service the battery needs of its many national accounts currently serviced only in western Canada and Ontario. The distribution centre also provides the Company with the capacity to expand in Quebec with new customers in that market and as well reach into the Maritime market. The new facilities in Quebec are part of Battery & Wireless's 2005 Operating Plan which includes the opening of additional distribution centres across Canada in order to better address the needs of large customers and national buying groups.
Battery & Wireless, through Magnacharge Battery Corporation, currently generates revenue in Quebec through the efforts of it's Mississauga sales office, but with the addition of this new distribution centre and the coincident access to additional existing national and new accounts, Management projects that sales volumes in Quebec will at least double in the current year and position the Company for significant growth thereafter.
