bcgi Augments Team to Support Global Sales and Deployment of New Mobile Services Platform11 February 2005
Boston Communications Group, Inc. , a provider of products and solutions that enable wireless operators to rapidly deploy and manage innovative voice and data services, today announced it has filled three new roles to support the global sale and deployment of its products. In addition to leading bcgi's Payment Services activities, James Anderson will now head-up bcgi's newly formed Professional Services Group. David Fondots will spearhead the company's International Sales team, and Daniel Carney will lead bcgi's Licensed Systems Group. The creation of these positions demonstrates bcgi's commitment to expanding its global presence and ensuring existing and future customers are well supported throughout the sale and deployment of bcgi's new mobile services platform, also announced today (see related press release issued today "bcgi Launches Mobile Services Platform"). "Today's launch of bcgi's mobile services platform positions us right in the middle of surging global demand for innovative wireless services and enables us to better meet the needs of operators around the world," said E.Y. Snowden, president and CEO of bcgi. "The proven experience of these key executives will provide muscle and leadership to fuel the growth of our customer base. Their combined expertise will help ensure that operators choosing to license our technology enjoy the highest level of support throughout all stages of the sale and deployment of our products."
Under the leadership of James Anderson, the bcgi Professional Services team will work with current and prospective customers to provide consultative services and support throughout the product implementation lifecycle, from pre-sale to deployment, training and upgrades. Mr. Anderson joined bcgi in 2002 to lead the company's activities in the payment space, including the launch of ATM Recharge. Mr. Anderson started his professional career with The Boston Consulting Group, assisting corporate clients in the development of effective strategies. Mr. Anderson earned his undergraduate degree at Oxford University and has an MBA from Columbia Business School.
As vice president of International Sales, David Fondots will direct and oversee bcgi's international sales strategies, policies, objectives and initiatives for all products and services in the international market. Mr. Fondots brings more than sixteen years of experience to bcgi and has managed sales, field engineering, and channel sales organizations in the Americas, Europe and emerging nations. Most recently, he served as the senior director of Worldwide Sales, Content Delivery Solutions for Sun Microsystems. Prior to its acquisition by Sun, he was the vice president of Sales and Field Engineering for Pixo. Mr. Fondots brings additional telecom expertise gained from senior sales positions with companies such as Agilent Technologies, AWN Wireless Networks and AvTel Communications.
Daniel Carney has been appointed vice president of the newly created Licensed Systems Group. Mr. Carney is responsible for all aspects of support associated with license sales for all product lines, including hardware benchmarking, design and configuration, system implementation and system technical support. Mr. Carney has been with bcgi since 2003 and was promoted to vice president from his previous position as director of Systems Architecture. Prior to joining bcgi, Mr. Carney spent more than a decade with telecommunications leaders Wildfire Communications (subsidiary of Orange SA) and NYNEX (now Verizon).
