bcgi Names Key Executives to Lead Expansion in Europe, Middle East and Africa

4 October 2005

Boston Communications Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: BCGI), a provider of products and solutions that enable wireless operators to rapidly deploy and manage innovative voice and data services, today announced key executive appointments in its European headquarters as another milestone in its global expansion strategy. bcgi's expanded presence offers mobile operators in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) a single point of contact for sales, professional services and customer support.

"The addition of these hand-picked, highly skilled professionals is perfectly aligned with our long-term strategy to expand our international sales and provide superior service to our growing roster of global customers and partners," said Fritz von Mering, chief operating officer for bcgi. "There are significant global opportunities for bcgi products and services, and these three executives will help ensure that we are able to get the right products to the right markets at the right time."

The new EMEA appointments include:

Steve Hurcom, managing director, EMEA, will oversee bcgi's operations in Europe, Middle East and Africa. Hurcom brings more than ten years of sales, sales management and domain expertise in the EMEA mobility market. Prior to joining bcgi, he led the EMEA sales team for Autodesk, achieving sales successes with major tier-one service providers including Telecom Italia Mobile and Vodafone Spain. Hurcom also served as Global Director of Sales for MapInfo, and was responsible for a five fold increase in the company's EMEA based telecommunications sales.

Rajesh Chandiramani, executive director, pre-sales engineering, EMEA, brings extensive telecommunications engineering management experience to bcgi. Most recently, Chandiramani was with Comverse, where he was director of pre-sales engineering for IN Solutions, and responsible for a team of managers that provided technical consultancy and sales support to telecommunications operators throughout northern European and the Middle East. He also has held senior positions at Hughes Network Systems and TATA.

Mariana Visintin, executive director of channel sales, EMEA and Latin America, will have a dual role at bcgi managing direct customers accounts in southern Europe and developing a channel partner program in both markets. Visintin joins bcgi from Opennet, where she served as director of channel development for EMEA, and led the development of direct and channel opportunities with Telecom Italia, Telefonica Moviles, Cosmotel, Cisco, Intracom, and others. Visintin also has held senior positions with France Telecom, Packet Video, and Lucent Technologies (Keenan Systems).

With these appointments, bcgi has direct sales and support services operations in Europe, supporting all EMEA markets, in addition to its offices in Bedford, Massachusetts, and Singapore. bcgi's international sales will continue to be supplemented by a network of distributors. bcgi Europe is located at Erico House 93-99 Upper Richmond Road, London, U.K., SW15 2TG, telephone +44 (0) 20 8785 5760.
