China Telecom Signs Major Licensing Deal for WinPoET Broadband Management Software From Fine Point Technologies15 October 2006
With a current market size of more than $80 billion, nearly 80 percent of China's spending on IT, and a 7 percent compound annual growth rate (CAGR), the Chinese telecommunications sector is an extremely significant part of the country's IT industry. It is expected to play a significant role in China's quest for a leading role in the global IT industry (source: Gartner) Initial implementation of WinPoET will be focused on approximately three million subscribers to China Telecom's broadband Internet services. The software will be included on communications devices provided by China Telecom running Microsoft Operating Systems including Windows 9.x/ME/NT/2000/XP/2003. In addition, users of Apple compatible devices will be equipped with similarly featured MacPoET software for the Macintosh OS.
