ComVu Receives Wireless Innovation Contest Award at CTIA Wireless 20066 April 2006
Las Vegas, NV — April 5, 2006 — ComVu, the pioneer in personal video broadcast solutions, is a prize winner in the Wireless Innovation Contest 2006 (WIC'06). ComVu's PocketCaster was selected from entries from across the United States and Canada, as it demonstrates a «real world» wireless innovation that will impact our lives – broadcasting video live from the palm of your hand. Using a camera phone to share instant experiences via live video is very compelling to consumers. Existing video recording options are cumbersome and never live. ComVu is the first to offer mobile users the ability to transmit live video broadcasts of any length and to any size audience using ComVu's «do-it-yourself» video network. ComVu nominated Olympic snowboarder Crispin Lipscombe's use of PocketCaster whilst on world tour and at the 2006 Winter Olympics for the award-winning entry. Amateur sports is an activity that brings families and communities together, yet there has been no easy and cost-effective way to record and share sporting events with those that cannot attend. Crispin Lipscombe broadcasts his experiences while on tour around the world – interviewing competitors, capturing moments from the Olympics and world championships, and catching the latest aerial tricks. «PocketCaster easy to use and cost-effective. The basic monthly subscription is about the same as a camcorder tape, but provides for at least twice the video storage, enables live broadcasting and viewing capabilities over the Internet,» comments William Mutual, CEO of ComVu. «This year, the competition was fierce and our judges were really challenged to pick out the award winners,» says Sang Mah, President of WINBC. «The award winners are testament to how wireless occupies all walks of life. We're very pleased to see how wireless is truly driving change in many sectors.» About ComVu ComVu Media, Inc., offers the first service for broadcasting live video from a mobile device to a global audience.
