Major Shift in Enterprise Wireless LAN Architecture Predicted Towards Dependent Access Point plus Switch/Appliances Solutions
A newly published report from Dell'Oro Group, the trusted source for market information about the networking and telecommunications industries, reveals that wireless LAN (WLAN) equipment revenues are poised to grow 13 percent in 2005 to $2.6 billion, and that the market will continue to grow through 2009 to $4.3 billion, a compounded annual growth rate (CAGR) of 13 percent.

According to the Dell'Oro Group report, the SOHO market for standalone WLAN equipment will decline; however, this decline will be more than compensated for by sales of WLAN embedded in broadband Customer Premises Equipment. Over time, the overall growth of the SOHO WLAN market will shift to another class of products.
