DuPont Selects AT&T to Manage Its Global Network

AT&T Inc. (NYSE: T) today announced that it will provide a strategic global network for DuPont to seamlessly connect the company's more than 60,000 employees located in 70 countries around the globe. The new contract expands AT&T's relationship with DuPont that has existed for nearly a century. Specific contract terms were not disclosed.

AT&T will converge DuPont's voice and data on a single MPLS-based network, connecting all of its corporate locations under a common IP-based architecture to allow global reach without sacrificing security. The network will serve third-party/supplier connectivity requirements and enable DuPont to better respond to its customers' constantly changing needs. The network will also provide a foundation to deploy new video and IP-centric applications.

"Of all the telecommunications providers, AT&T was the best-equipped to meet DuPont's need for a truly global network at a reasonable price," said Tom Marcin, director of Global Telecommunications at DuPont. "That, coupled with the mutual trust and respect we've built with AT&T throughout our long history, led us to choose AT&T."

Reliability was another criterion DuPont used when deciding to contract with AT&T. With rapid growth in developing regions around the globe, DuPont cannot risk network downtimes of even a few hours. AT&T's quality of service (QOS) and industry-leading service level agreements (SLAs) will be in place to guarantee network performance.
