DynoPlex and Onset Technology Partner to Deliver Document Editing Applications With METAmessage for BlackBerry

31 January 2006

Onset Technology, a leading developer of enterprise access software for wireless handheld devices, and DynoPlex, a recognized leader in wireless document-management solutions, announced today a partnership to integrate DynoPlex's award-winning document-editing applications eWord™ and eCell™ with Onset's METAmessage®, the comprehensive "beyond email" solution designed for users of the BlackBerry® wireless platform from Research In Motion (RIM) (NASDAQ: RIMM) (TSX: RIM).

The solution will be shown at the BlackBerry booth at the LegalTech 25th Anniversary show at the Hilton New York Hotel January 30th through February 1st.

With this integration, a mobile professional can open or create an MS Word or Excel attachment or document, edit and format it much like they would using its native application, and then send, save, or even print the new or revised document. For example, a salesperson can revise a contract blocks away from a closing -- an attorney sitting in a taxi can create and send correspondence that looks desktop-published -- an accountant can update a spreadsheet without booting up a laptop and finding a dialup or wireless connection.

"It is a pleasure to see these two great providers, with whom we have well-established relationships, work together," said David Bean, CEO of eAccess Solutions. "This makes the most widely used desktop applications easily available to enterprise BlackBerry users. Taking advantage of the ubiquitous METAmessage platform, with its advanced user management and licensing capabilities, brings a new level of mobile productivity to enterprise BlackBerry deployments. This will benefit our clients tremendously."

"Integrating top applications from partners like DynoPlex into the METAmessage enterprise solution lets us provide a 'one-stop shop' for applications management, licensing, deployment, and support," said Gadi Mazor, CEO of Onset Technology. "The Microsoft Word and Excel document editors from DynoPlex add great value to our offering and further enhance the productivity and effectiveness of our customers."

"BlackBerry is the platform of choice for organizations that want to wirelessly extend their enterprise applications to their mobile workforce," said Mark Guibert, Vice President, Corporate Marketing at Research In Motion. "The combined solution from Onset Technology and DynoPlex will enable increased document management and control to mobile professionals."

METAmessage, used by over 1,300 enterprise customers with over 150,000 users, is a complete, out-of-the-box solution for BlackBerry. Users can check spelling; print anywhere; set custom message alerts; access network documents; get quick info; and, interact directly with a range of enterprise data systems including time-and-billing programs, enterprise applications, and internally developed databases. METAmessage also provides advanced Emergency Communications, Legal, Accounting, and Professional solutions.

eWord and eCell are part of DynoPlex's eOffice productivity suite that is everything a mobile professional needs in a modern wireless document-management solution. eWord lets users create and edit documents and messages, sending them directly from the application; cut, copy and paste text; change fonts, styles, sizes; create indented paragraphs and bullet points; and, import and export Word documents using Desktop Converter. eCell lets users create or edit full size spreadsheets, with up to 65,536 rows and 256 columns; add/edit formulas; use Toolbar buttons to simplify access to main commands; and, it is fully compatible with Microsoft Excel and supports Excel functions including mathematical and scientific formulas, diagrams and graphs, and data formats.
