Embarq Selects Visage Mobile as MVNO Enabler

18 July 2006

Embarq (NYSE: EQ) today announced it has chosen Visage Mobile, the leading enabler of private-label wireless services, to provide the wireless operations platform for EMBARQ's wireless product offer that launched in June. Key elements of Visage's support include order provisioning, billing, carrier interfaces and customer care systems.

EMBARQ, the former local communications business unit of Sprint Nextel until it was spun off in May, operates in 18 states and offers innovative service plans that integrate wireline and wireless services. Supported by Visage's MVNO-enablement services, EMBARQ's consumer and small-business customers receive a variety of bundled offerings that include local, wireless, long distance, DSL, and satellite TV services, all on one bill.

"As a Tier 1 telecommunications provider with extensive wireless experience, we recognized the value the Visage platform brings to launching a new wireless offering," said Dennis Huber, EMBARQ's senior vice president of wireless. "We chose the Visage MVNO platform due to its time to market benefits, degree of configurability, and ability to integrate with our existing systems."

"Visage Mobile is excited to be a part of the EMBARQ wireless launch," said Matt Johnson, CEO of Visage Mobile. "We built our platform as a configurable, carrier-grade solution for MVNOs, so EMBARQ's selection of Visage Mobile was a strong vote of confidence for us. Working with a Tier 1 carrier such as EMBARQ, along with selection by Disney and ESPN, reinforces Visage Mobile as the mobile virtual network enabler (MVNE) of choice for MVNOs."

Visage Mobile provides a robust solution for MVNOs looking to outsource some or all of their back-office functionality. The Visage platform enables MVNOs to easily configure and deliver unique wireless solutions into the market, while keeping their brands safe and secure. Visage Mobile provides carrier integration, ordering, activation, billing and rating, customer care, fulfillment, and business management functionality for MVNOs.
