European Wireless Executives Meet US High Tech Companies24 January 2005
Altos Advisors, A Munich/Silicon Valley based consulting firm announces the launch of its Wireless Summit Europe conference. Having been frustrated with events where participants sit idle and listen to speeches while the only real meeting opportunities are the coffee break, Mr. Joerg Sperling decided to launch a very different event. Mr. Sperling says, “The Wireless Summit Europe brings executives from Europe’s leading telecom carriers together with overseas high-tech companies. Rather than a format of speech after speech, we will be facilitating one on one sessions between the carriers and the overseas companies to discuss their products and services. What we wanted to do was create a priceless opportunity for companies to accelerate the partnering process in Europe.”
The event runs from February 23rd to February 25th, following the famous GSM Conference in Cannes and provides executives from overseas the opportunity to combine these two powerful networking opportunities into one business trip. The setting is in the gorgeous Austrian Alps at the three star Gersberg Alm resort near Salzburg, which already Mozart enjoyed for weekend getaways.
Jeff Malkin, CEO of PhoneBites says: “Joerg has been instrumental in our ongoing efforts to break into the European market. When invited to the Wireless Summit 2005, we jumped at the opportunity. For an emerging growth company, this kind of high level access is very valuable.”
Frank J Hoffmann, Head of Networks for Swisscom Mobile reviewed the list of participants and presenting companies and decided that this event would be right for him. Being exposed to leading edge technology companies is the key value he sees in the event. Jon Medved from Israel Seed Partners, the leading early stage investor from Israel says:" We decided to become a sponsor of the Wireless Summit and brought two of our portfolio companies with us. This event gives our companies the opportunity to have meetings during two days which otherwise would easily entail two weeks of business travel and still not be as effective."
Mr. Sperling adds that the conference was almost sold out from day one, but a few VIP passes are still available for select executives from European carriers. Interested parties shall contact Mr. Sperling at Altos Advisors ( [Email Protected] ).
