FatPort Unwires 50th Canadian Community10 January 2005
With the installation of Squamish’s WhiteSpot restaurant, FatPort has unwired locations in a milestone 50 communities across Canada. Targeted at mobile professionals, FatPort has a long history of providing access in smaller communities typically under-serviced by other providers.
Two recent deals spurred FatPort’s recent rapid growth: select Mac’s Convenience and Whitespot restaurants are now offering FatPort wireless Internet to their customers. They join a network of hotels, restaurants, and cafes across Canada including the Coast Hotel chain and Earl’s restaurants.
“FatPort is proud to offer service in so many communities.” States FatPort CEO, Claudia Ng. “We’re very much focused on developing our presence in places the other providers might ignore for logistical reasons. By taking on that challenge, we now own or operate 300 locations in Canada, and through our roaming partners, offer access to 4000 sites around the world.”
