Franklin Wireless and TSTT Deliver First CDMA 1XEV-DO USB Modem1 August 2006
Franklin Wireless Corporation (PINKSHEETS: FKLT) and Telecommunications Services of Trinidad and Tobago (TSTT), the largest telecommunications service provider in Trinidad and Tobago, announced a distribution agreement and the launching of the first wireless CDMA 1XEV-DO USB Modem. In this agreement Franklin Wireless will be shipping units of its CCU-550 1XEV-DO modem for this pioneering launch using TSTT's CDMA mobile network in Trinidad and Tobago.
Franklin's CCU-550 is the industry's first wireless USB modem based on CDMA2000 1XEV-DO technology. This revolutionary product will enable TSTT's subscribers with laptop and especially ultra-portable and desktop computers that do not have a PCMCIA card slot to connect to the internet anytime anywhere. It is capable of speeds of up to 2.4 Mbps enabling PC users to access email and browse the internet at speeds comparable to cable and DSL connections.
