Free Wi-Fi Blankets San Francisco's Marina District28 February 2005
Last year, in his state of the city address, Mayor Gavin Newsom said, "We will not stop until every San Franciscan has access to free wireless Internet service."
"AnchorFree is pioneering Mayor Newsom"s vision of free wireless Internet service for every San Franciscan", said David Gorodyansky, President of AnchorFree Wireless. "Today San Franciscans have the freedom to use our free wireless Internet service in the heart of the Marina district."
The Wi-Fi hotzone is located along Chestnut street, the commercial portion of the Marina district, which has numerous restaurants and cafes. Free wireless Internet service is available along Chestnut Street indoors and outdoors between Fillmore and Scott Streets. Users can access the free service using wireless enabled laptops and PDAs.

AnchorFree is actively seeking sponsors to offset the cost of maintaining free Wi-Fi in the heart of the Marina district.
