Fully automatic wireless digital radiography

5 March 2006

The new universal radiography system Axiom Aristos FX Plus from Siemens.

Erlangen, Jan 23, 2006, Siemens Medical Solutions launched recently Axiom Aristos FX Plus, the new radiography system with integrated flat detector (FD) technology. As the first fully automatic digital radiography system with wireless remote control, Axiom Aristos FX Plus can be conveniently operated from anywhere in the room. Whether generating exposures of the head, thorax, abdomen, pelvis, extremities or work in the trauma room, the new radiography system easily meets a wide range of examinations. It provides the capability to select system positions and imaging parameters directly on the system console followed with effortless system positioning with a touch of a button on the wireless remote control.

New features of the new Axiom Aristos FX Plus provide users with many benefits. The wireless remote control allows him to easily accomplished X-ray tube and detector positioning. Moreover, the remote control is equipped with a safety feature that produces an audible warning if it is more than 15 metres away from the system -- ensuring safe return of the device. Another user-friendly feature is the new detector housing for easy grid management -- simply remove the grid at the press of buttons when not required while providing radiation dose savings to patients.

Integrated FD technology has clearly proven workflow process -- eliminating manual activities such as cassette handling and film development. The system s superb image quality, a prerequisite for diagnostic and therapeutic safety and faster treatment success, is ensured through 3kČ detector resolution with nine million active pixels documenting the finest image details. After image acquisitions, almost instantaneous display of images are available for evaluation and post-processing. A standard delivery of a new and larger 19" monitor facilitates review and image management. The innovative FD technology reduces radiation dose to patients by more than 50 percent and in cases of pediatric examinations, automated of addition of special filters can further reduce the dose by as much as 75 percent. These features translate into benefits for the patient - shorter waiting times and faster initiation of treatments.

Aristos FX Plus offers a dedicated orthopedic imaging progam that simplifies long spine and long legs imaging applications. Easy to set-up with an automated acquisition process, the system generates a sequence of up to 4 images of the spine or legs. Subsequently, with background transfers of the individual images to a syngo Workplace, the images are automatically composed into an overall image for diagnoses.

Aristos FX Plus is also available in a new design with a pediatric theme for centers aiming to create a child-friendly environment.
