Glenayre's Versera Video Solutions and Active Messaging Capability to be Highlighted at CTIA Wireless 20063 April 2006
Glenayre Messaging, a division of Glenayre Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: GEMS) and a global leader in providing next-generation messaging solutions and enhanced services, will unveil new capabilities of its groundbreaking suite of Versera(R) Video Messaging applications and Versera Active Messaging at CTIA Wireless 2006, a premier trade event to take place in Las Vegas, April 5-7 (booth #2620). The latest version of Versera Video Mail will be a key incentive in encouraging 2G customers to move to 3G. This release enables subscribers to utilize a single mailbox for voice or video calls, and enables 2G users to have video calls answered by their mailbox. These subscribers can then listen to the audio portion in their voice mailbox or see the full video message via MMS, e-mail or the Web. "Video is the application that is already delivering increased average revenue per user for operators outside of the U.S.," said Mark Yaphe, Vice President of Product Management for Glenayre Messaging. "3G users already enjoy the benefits of video messaging, and now 2G users can get a taste of what they're missing. The latest version of Versera Video Mail gives the 2G user easy entry into the video world while better positioning operators to offer a path to a 3G environment, with all of its added benefit." Announced last month, Versera Active Messaging enables operators to insert interactive multimedia application logic directly into a voice or video message, creating an active message that the subscriber accesses through their mailbox. Unlike more traditional voice and video messaging solutions, which only allowed subscribers to listen to or view their messages, active messaging enables subscribers to immediately purchase, subscribe, download, provide feedback, tell a friend, or request more information by simply pressing the appropriate buttons on their telephone keypads. For the first time at CTIA, Glenayre will provide a detailed presentation on Active Messaging and demonstrate how an Active Message is created and modified. Also available for demonstration will be Versera Video Mail, Video Portal and Video Storefront, along with many other Versera ICE enabled applications, such as MessageMe and My Services. Glenayre's voice and video messaging solutions take advantage of the industry-leading design of Versera ICE. As a true next-generation messaging solution architected in Java and VoiceXML, Versera ICE enables the deployment of multiple applications on a single platform. Versera ICE is unique because it not only supports other applications written in VoiceXML, but the core ICE-enabled applications themselves, like Voice Mail and Video Mail, are also written in VoiceXML. This enables a service creation environment and compelling solution possibilities that are unmatched in the industry. Senior executives from Glenayre will be available for interview at CTIA Wireless 2006.
