Groupe Silicomp Expands its Electronic Money and RFID Business With the Acquisition of CADIMES

PARIS, January 11 -- Groupe Silicomp (Paris FR0000063794) - Groupe Silicomp continues to develop its e-money business and contactless technologies (RFID) by acquiring its supplier CADIMES. This company has cutting edge know-how in contactless technologies, which gives it a lead that is recognised worldwide.

Based in Rennes, CADIMES is an independent test centre that specialises in testing cards and contactless readers using RFID technology. Established and managed by Mr Francois BOTQUIN, a well-known authority in this field, CADIMES has grown very strongly over the last three years.

This merger is within the Group's strategy and demonstrates the desire of Groupe Silicomp to retain its technological advance and to complete it step by step.

For CADIMES, this merger provides access to a larger customer base and geographic spread, within a structured group.

CADIMES has 7 employees in France. In 2005, this very profitable and rapidly growing business generated sales of EUR 0.8 million, CADIMES will be consolidated with effect from 1 January 2006. The financial terms of this acquisition will be highly earnings enhancing.
