Hughes Network Systems Europe Rallies to Provide Service to Stranded Satellite Broadband Users2 March 2006
Hughes Networks Systems Europe (HNSE), a wholly owned subsidiary of Hughes Network Systems, LLC (HNS), today announced the launch of a rescue programme for stranded users of a European satellite ISP following customer notification that they were ceasing operations effective 27 January 2006. HNSE's rescue programme is designed to help these satellite broadband users restore their Internet service as quickly and painlessly as possible and is available through HNSE's European network of value-added resellers. "Immediately after customers were notified that service was ending, we were inundated with enquiries from hundreds of distressed users, both directly and through our partners. We have responded by offering a free equipment programme on selected plans," said Patrick Grillo, director of sales, Internet Business Group at HNSE. "Several sites were transitioned to HNSE's service as early as this past Monday, with more to be completed within the next two weeks." "We understand that many small enterprises and home workers have been affected and require urgent assistance to re-establish their Internet connectivity. As the worldwide market leader in the delivery of satellite- enabled broadband Internet access, Hughes wanted to act quickly," said Mike Darcy, president of HNSE. "With over 280,000 DIRECWAY(R) consumer and small business subscribers worldwide, Hughes has a service model that is stable, proven, and is competitively priced," added Grillo. "This was recently reinforced with the European launch in October of the DW7000 high-performance broadband satellite router and nine new service plans, resulting in a wide range of offerings for individuals through to multi-site customers across Europe." HNS Europe's business model for the small enterprise market is based on an authorised distribution network of value-added resellers and dealers across the EMEA region. Grillo added, "Not only does our dealer network extend broadband satellite delivery to a wide geographic area, it's all backed by our professional service capabilities, including billing, maintenance, technical and customer support." To assist disconnected users in securing and resuming high-speed broadband Internet access, FREE equipment is available on selected plans. Customers can contact Hughes directly for advice, or any of its authorized resellers for further information.
