iDirect and Pronto to Provide Wi-Fi Support Systems to the VSAT Industry27 January 2005
iDirect Technologies, a privately held company that designs, develops, and markets the fastest, most reliable bi-directional satellite-based broadband access solutions, announced an agreement with Pronto Networks to incorporate the company's Operations Support System (OSS) into its product offering to deliver last mile, wireless connectivity via satellite. This agreement will make iDirect a preferred reseller of Pronto Networks' solutions to the VSAT
industry, and will allow new or existing iDirect customers to deploy and manage large-scale, public hotspot and hot zone networks.

The software platform offers service providers a cost-effective, end-to-end solution that will enable them to quickly enter the market, expand their footprint, and achieve a rapid ROI. Integrating this capability into iDirect enabled networks will greatly simplify the process and reduce the cost of deploying remote wireless broadband IP networks.

Pronto's WLAN solution can also help improve employee productivity in locations that already have satellite access, such as quick service restaurants, gas stations, and retail stores.
