Interlink Networks Closes New Funding Round for LucidLink20 January 2005
Interlink Networks, Inc., a leader in wireless network security for small and mid-sized businesses, today announced the closing of a $2.85 million round of venture capital funding. Investors in the round included Arbor Partners, Duchossois Technology Partners, Intel Capital, and M-Group. The proceeds will be used to finance ongoing enhancements and channel development for the company's award-winning LucidLink(TM) Wireless Security, the first software product to reduce Wi-Fi setup, security and maintenance to a few steps that can be handled by non-technical users.
LucidLink enables small and mid-sized companies and home office professionals to set up, secure and manage wireless networks in minutes without the need for technical oversight. All operations can be performed in one or two clicks without any knowledge of technical terminology or network architecture. This led LucidLink to become the first product to win Best of Show awards at two consecutive Wi-Fi Planet Conferences as one of the most innovative Wi-Fi security products on the market. LucidLink Home Office Edition supports three users for only $99 and scales up to 250 users with LucidLink Small Business Edition.
"This investment will help us build our channels and market our plug-and-play wireless security software for small and mid-sized businesses and home office professionals," said Mike Klein, president and CEO of Interlink Networks. "We have solved a very real problem by enabling these organizations to get the same wireless security that's used in Fortune 500 companies without the need for technical expertise to deploy or support their networks."
"Interlink's leadership in wireless security has been demonstrated through the largest wireless installations in the world. Interlink secures over 800,000 wireless access points for 6.5 million users in Korea, and provides the core security technology for OEMs that include HP and Siemens," said David Filkin, partner, Duchossois Technology Partners.
"The positive market reaction to Interlink's new product for the SMB market, coupled with the awards it has received, demonstrates that Interlink not only has its fingers on the pulse of wireless users but also has delivered the kind of simple, practical wireless security solution the market has been looking for," Filkin added. "This is a strong entry that may well turn into the household name in wireless security." Contacts S&S Public Relations, Inc. Tony Keller, 719/634-8279 tony@sspr.com
