Jabra BT250 Rated Best-of-Class Bluetooth Headset18 January 2005
Jabra, the leading brand of hands-free communication products for the mobile consumer market, announces that Consumer Reports rates the Jabra BT250 as a best-of- class Bluetooth headset in its annual cell phone report appearing in the February issue of the magazine. The award-winning Jabra BT250 is given the highest rating for best overall value in headsets using Bluetooth technology. In addition, Jabra's EarBoom headset is touted for overall voice quality, comfortable fit and ease-of-use while the Jabra EarWave Boom receives high marks for comfort in the rankings of over-the-ear models. In its annual cell phone report, Consumer Reports provides handset and headset buying advice in addition to the results of hands-on testing and evaluation of leading headsets based on various criteria, including voice quality, fit, comfort and convenience. The report reveals the results of lab tests conducted on 10 headsets comprising eight corded and two wireless Bluetooth-enabled models. Of all headset models tested, the Jabra BT250 was considered a better choice than higher-priced models. "We are extremely pleased with the results of the Consumer Reports testing," said David Hogan, vice president of sales and marketing for Jabra. "This validates the quality of our products and reinforces our mission to converge technology, comfort and design to create a user-friendly experience." Building on the success of its BT250 headset, Jabra introduced its next-generation Bluetooth headset earlier this month at the Consumer Electronics Show. The BT250v is the latest evolution of the BT250, last year's recipient of the CES Innovation Award. The Jabra BT250v offers unique innovations such as a call-alert feature and an improved look to suit an even broader range of consumers. With call-alert, the BT250v silently vibrates to inform users that they are receiving an incoming call. The vibrate function is automatically enabled when customers first switch on their Jabra BT250v and can be easily disengaged by holding the volume down button. In addition, the Jabra BT250v comes in a distinctive new black color making it suitable for even the most fashion conscious user as it easily compliments any mobile phone. Designed for simple, all day hands-free use with any Bluetooth mobile phone, the Jabra BT250v shares the same behind-the-ear wearing style as the Jabra BT250, combining comfort, style and performance. The Jabra BT250v gives customers the freedom to use their mobile phone up to 30 feet away. The BT250v delivers up to 7 hours of talk time and up to 200 hours of standby time. Its soft elastomer body weighs only 3/4 oz. and its sound-absorbing material reduces distortions resulting in crisp sound quality. The headset features Jabra MiniGels(TM) that channel sound directly into the ear for superior clarity and reception. The Jabra BT250v will be available in Q1 2005 in North America at select retail outlets with a suggested retail price of $99. The Jabra EarBoom and Jabra EarWave Boom are available for a suggested retail price of $24.99.
