L-3 Communications Acquires Mobile-Vision, Inc16 April 2005
L-3 Communications (NYSE: LLL) announced today that it acquired Mobile-Vision, Inc. on April 12, 2005. The company will be renamed L-3 Communications Mobile-Vision, Inc. and is expected to be accretive to L-3 Communications' results for 2005. The terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Located in Boonton, New Jersey, Mobile-Vision is a leading supplier of in-vehicle video recording systems for law enforcement agencies, with a product line that includes both analog and digital recording systems, plus associated peripherals. Currently, Mobile-Vision has an installed product base of over 50,000 systems for over 4,500 state and local law enforcement agencies.
The company's Flashback(TM) digital video recording system includes a console-mounted digital video recorder with a solid-state flash memory, a video camera, wireless microphone and a small LCD monitor. The system allows simultaneous recording of up to two video sources and three audio sources, plus supporting data including time, date and GPS location. Mobile-Vision also offers software and servers for reviewing and archiving video records.

Mr. Lanza also noted that Mobile-Vision will be a part of L-3's Products Group which is overseen by senior vice president and Products Group president and chief operating officer, Charles J. Schafer.
