Lyrtech delivers hi-tech solution to Indra, the leading Spanish IT, defense, and communications company

17 March 2006

Lyrtech Inc. (TSX Venture Exchange: LYT), a worldwide leader in digital signal processing technologies, announced today that it successfully delivered a key DSP data acquisition hardware solution to Indra Space (a division of Indra Sistemas, S.A. - MCE: IDR.MC) the Spanish leader in information technology and defense systems. This solution will be integrated into a defense broadband satellite communication system developed by Indra Space.

"This is a tremendous opportunity for Lyrtech to once again establish itself as a leading digital signal processing and data acquisition product provider in the very fast growing and challenging communications and defense industries", stated Miguel Caron, Lyrtech's President and Chief Executive Officer. "By quickly understanding and assessing market demands, we can develop key modular hardware and software solutions that can be reused by our customers in their systems. This is a key point in our main customer strategy - reducing time to market and reducing costs in every new product introduction."

"By working with Lyrtech, the project team at Indra Space was able to focus on its core application development, which has the goal of marketing an innovative, efficient, and secure modulation technology for broadband satellite communications applications", stated Victor Delgado, Project manager at Indra Space in Barcelona. "By allowing companies with a high degree of expertise, such as Lyrtech, to provide the world with what it does best, it allows major system integrators to be that much more efficient in developing complete systems. This guarantees the best key components in a single system, which adds value to our products and significantly reduces our time to market."

Lyrtech's expertise and ability to develop new products suited to the communications industry that can be integrated in final original equipment manufacturer (OEM) products has made this deal possible between the two companies. The solution that Lyrtech delivered to Indra Space included multi- DSP and FPGA processing boards, a SignalMaster Quad C6416 (that won an innovation and excellence award at GSPX2004), and the ADACMaster III, an upgraded version of one of Lyrtech's most popular data acquisition modules. The ADACMaster III features two input channels capable of sampling frequencies of up to 125 MSPS, two output channels capable of data transmission frequencies of up to 500 MSPS, and connectors for external clocks and triggers. The ADACMaster III also features an onboard Xilinx Virtex-4 FPGA for advanced digital signal processing. The ADACMaster III can be used as a stand- alone data acquisition solution in satellites, wireless communications transceiver systems, software-defined radio systems, radar/sonar, GPS anti- jamming receivers, medical equipment, and other such applications.
