MaxStream's One-Watt Radio Modem now Available in Australia

9 November 2005

In response to the accelerating demand for reliable, high-performance wireless data technology, the MaxStream 9XTend product family now includes an OEM RF module that complies with Australian agency (ACMA) regulations. (Logo: http://www.newscom.com/cgi-bin/prnh/20041026/LAMAXLOGO) The award-winning 9XTend OEM RF module makes it easy to integrate robust wireless networks that are capable of communicating at up to 1 Watt EIRP. The 915-928 MHz band radios offer a variable power output between 1 mW and 1 Watt, allowing customized networks to be able to achieve desired ranges and conserve energy. The Australian version of the 9XTend features a 104 Kbps over-the-air baud rate. "We have had a demand from our Australian customers and distributors for a more powerful and customizable wireless solution," said David Steed, MaxStream's Vice President of Engineering. "The Australian-approved 9XTend product line makes easy-to-integrate solutions that are both powerful and reliable. It also allows worldwide integration based upon a single PCB footprint because of its pin-compatible design with other 9XTend OEM RF modules." Complementing the OEM RF modules, the 9XTend is available in an aluminum-housed stand-alone modem that features either RS-232/485, USB or Ethernet connectivity. An optional NEMA-4 enclosure allows for deployment in harsh outdoor conditions. 9XTend Development Kits make it easy to communicate wirelessly in a matter of minutes. No configuration is necessary for many operation modes, including networking modes. Advanced networking features allow for easy configuration of transparent peer-to-peer, point-to-point, point-to-multipoint and multi-drop network topologies. The entire line of Australian-approved 9XTend products (part numbers starting with XTH9) will be available direct or through distribution.
