MaxStream Wireless Module Named Product of the Year

23 December 2004

MaxStream's 9XTend one Watt RF module has been awarded the product of the year by eeProductCenter. Based on reader interest, MaxStream was chosen to receive the highest accolade from the web site devoted to new electronic products. eeProductCenter is part of the
EETimes Network that features a variety of prestigious web and print media dedicated to high tech engineering.
"It's fantastic to have this significant endorsement from such a reputable organization," said Brad Walters, President and CEO of MaxStream. "Since its release, integrators have raved about the 9XTend's features, including the significant innovations in range, security, simplicity and price. It's no surprise that readers have recognized MaxStream as a leader in wireless data
communication."
The 9XTend wireless transceiver provides OEMs the highest encryption standard available (256-bit AES encryption) and the highest power output allowed by the FCC (1 mW - 1 W, software selectable). Featuring transmission ranges of up to 3000 ft. in indoor/urban environments and up to 40 mi. line-of-sight, data throughput of up to 115 kbps sustainable RF data rate and up to 230 kbps interface data rate, and the industry's smallest full 1-Watt
form-factor, the 9XTend incorporates the best features for the lowest cost. The 9XTend is ideal for secure, critical and long-range applications including homeland security, remote monitoring, building automation systems, automated teller machines, point-of-sale terminals, and keyless/remote access systems, among others. Development kits and production units are now available, as well as enclosed stand-alone RS-232/485 radio modems.
