WHAT: Meru's Director of Product Management, Chris Gilby, and Mike
Ruiz, Network and Systems Engineer for Hobart and William Smith
(HWS) Colleges, will discuss the university's wireless
deployment in a session entitled "Meeting the Demand for
Wireless Connectivity" at the 35th annual Association for
Communications Technology Professionals in Higher Education
(ACUTA) Conference & Exhibition.
In the session, Mr. Ruiz and Mr. Gilby will describe how HWS
implemented a wireless LAN system that enabled the institution
to manage co-channel interference, improve wireless coverage and
reliably deliver high-performance, wireless connectivity for a
growing number of users and applications. They will describe the
benefits the network has brought to the campus environment.
ACUTA is an international non-profit educational association
serving colleges and universities. ACUTA represents nearly 2000
individuals at 825 institutions of higher education with members
ranging from small schools and community colleges to the 50
largest U.S. institutions representing diverse Carnegie
classifications in all 50 states, Canada, Australia, and New
