Meru Networks Signs Key Partners to Deliver Wireless LAN Infrastructure Solutions to Federal Government Market

27 February 2006

Meru Networks, the global leader in wireless VoIP infrastructure, today announced that it has expanded its network of channel partners to make its wireless solutions available to federal, state and local government agencies. Meru has signed on nine leading reseller/integrator partners to help bring its award-winning wireless LAN portfolio to the government market.

Over the past year, Meru has been awarded Federal Supply Schedule contract approval from both the General Services Administration and SEWP III, which enable U.S. federal agencies, the Department of Defense, and state and local government agencies to purchase Meru's wireless LAN solutions. To further expand its presence in the government market, Meru has signed on the following channel partners: General Dynamics, Govtel, iGov, Invisi-Wire, Management Systems Designers (MSD), Northrup Grumman, TKC Technologies, True North Solutions, Inc. and Worldwide Technology, Inc. (WWT).

Meru's Wireless LAN System, the only WLAN solution purpose-built to handle pervasive deployments of layered voice and data applications including toll-quality wireless voice over IP, has gained substantial traction in the enterprise WLAN market and is now making inroads in the federal government sector. Key to Meru's growing success in the federal government sector is the company's recently announced Security Services Module (SSM), a software module that that works in combination with Meru's complete wireless LAN product portfolio, to deliver the industry's first military-grade, RF signal-level wireless security. Meru's SSM is ideal for government and military agencies that require the highest levels of security and confidentiality for mission-critical applications.

"We are pleased to have Meru Networks on our SEWP III contract," said Max Kymmell, director of Government Programs for Worldwide Technology, Inc. (WWT), a market-leading systems integrator that provides innovative technology and supply chain solutions to the commercial, government and telecom sectors. "We look forward to working together and demonstrating Meru's wireless capabilities."

"Federal, state and local government agencies have long recognized the substantial productivity and cost benefits associated with wireless LANs, but have been reluctant to deploy the previous generation of WLAN solutions because they cannot deliver the high levels of security, performance and pervasive coverage required to support critical applications in these environments," said Kamal Anand, vice president of marketing, Meru Networks. "With its innovative Air Traffic Control technology that enables coordinated, widespread coverage with a single channel, its ability to support toll-quality voice and multiple data applications, and its military-grades security, Meru's WLAN System addresses the specific needs of the federal government agency environment."
