Micro Linear Selected for Uniden 2006 Digital Cordless Telephones and Voice Over IP Cordless Phones

12 January 2006

SAN JOSE, Calif. and FORT WORTH, Texas, Jan. 11 -- Micro Linear Corporation (Nasdaq: MLIN), a leading digital wireless transceiver supplier, announces that they have been selected by Uniden America Corporation, a leading manufacturer of wireless consumer electronic products, as the exclusive supplier of 5.8GHz wireless transceivers for use in all Uniden's 2006 model 5.8GHz digital expandable cordless phones, including Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) products.

As a leader in the cordless and VoIP industries, Uniden recently introduced its new line of products at the 2006 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES), a complete family of products that address the needs of the consumer. Uniden has selected Micro Linear's high data rate ML5800 (1.536Mbps) transceiver IC, which utilizes Micro Linear's advanced technology and cost optimized processes. Uniden's 5.8GHz Digital Spread Spectrum (DSS) phones are designed to avoid interference, which the companies have shown result in maximum clarity and improved audio quality.

"Uniden has been using Micro Linear's transceivers for more than four years, so the decision process for selecting Micro Linear as our vendor for our new 2006 line up was very straight forward. Micro Linear remains consistent in exceeding our expectations in performance, delivery and price," said Rich Tosi, president of Uniden America Corp. "As the leading manufacturer of cordless phones, Uniden understands what consumers want from their home phone experience -- affordability, reliability and functionality -- and we will again satisfy these needs with our exciting new cordless line up for 2006.

Tim Richardson, President and Chief Executive Officer of Micro Linear comments, "Uniden has been a close partner to Micro Linear throughout the cordless phone's evolution from 900MHz, to 2.4GHz, and now to 5.8GHz. We have always been impressed by Uniden's vision and execution on their vision, which has placed Uniden in a leadership position. We are happy that Uniden continues to recognize Micro Linear as a leader in 5.8GHz RF transceiver technology and we will continue to do all that is necessary to fulfill Uniden's needs both now and in the future."

Micro Linear's selection as Uniden's exclusive supplier of 5.8 GHz wireless transceivers is subject to certain price and delivery conditions.
