Microfield Subsidiary Begins Final Phase of Symbol Technologies Wireless Project22 April 2005
Microfield Group, Inc. ('Microfield') (OTCBB:MICG) announced today that its wholly owned subsidiary, Christenson Velagio, Inc. ('CVI'), has completed the initial phase and has launched the final phase of a Symbol Technologies wireless installation project for a large national client at one of their regional production plants located in Oregon. The initial project phase included re-mapping of the overall 10.IP network, system infrastructure expansion, allowing seamless use of Symbol wireless phones throughout the plant, and a reconfiguration of the existing Nortel system. The delivered result of the initial phase was a seamless 'meshing' of Nortel and Symbol systems for proper integration from a 'wired' to 'wireless' telephony and data converged environment.
The second and final phase of the project will involve an extensive review of wireless bar-coding capabilities for 'dock-to-dock' inventory controls, national 'plant-to-plant' electronic database tracking, and complete Symbol and Nortel software upgrades to bring the entire system up to the most recent operating versions.
'This project represents CVI's continued focus and success with marketing and deploying new wireless technologies and radio frequency identification (RFID) systems. We will continue our strategy to introduce these emerging technologies to our valued customers and to other businesses throughout the region,' said A. Mark Walter, President of Microfield.
