4 December 2006

HONG KONG, Dec. 3 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ Motorola (NYSE: MOT) kicked off a week of activities that include live Mobile TV demonstrations and keynote speaking engagements by Ed Zander, chairman and chief executive officer of Motorola, and Simon Leung, president Motorola Asia-Pacific, at the ITU Telecom World 2006 and the 3G World Congress & Mobility Marketplace in Hong Kong.

"We are excited to be participating in two of the telecommunication industry's leading conferences, the ITU Telecom World and 3G World Congress," said Ed Zander. "We are thrilled to showcase Motorola's innovative products and technologies including the new MOTOROKR E6 that are changing the way consumers and businesses communicate with each other. The MOTOROKR E6 the essential device for people who work hard and play hard redefines users' experiences with traditional music and PDA devices. Once again, Motorola is making seamless mobility a reality and our latest offerings deliver on the promise of a digital lifestyle that keeps people connected to data, information and entertainment whenever and wherever they want."

Today in Hong Kong, Motorola Ambassador Taiwanese pop-star Jay Chou will help launch the new wickedly cool MOTOROKR E6 specifically designed to create superior experiences around video, music, games and photos in a single device. A complete re-visioning of traditional music and PDA devices, the MOTOROKR E6 is an elegantly designed entertainment handset that enhances user productivity with compelling features, including dedicated music keys, expandable memory, movie viewing and movie making capabilities, plus all of the essential business tools. The MOTOROKR E6 comes with Motorola's award-winning business-card reader software, taking the hassle out of staying in touch by conveniently creating and sharing contact information.

MOTOFONE

Motorola will also be showcasing the recently launched MOTOFONE this week in Hong Kong. MOTOFONE changes the playing field for low-cost handsets by making high design and smart technology truly affordable. Motorola's thinnest phone yet at only 9mm, MOTOFONE breaks the mould of traditional entry-level devices by incorporating key design elements including a flat keypad, multiple colors, innovative materials and finishes. Based on Motorola's evolutionary new SCPL design platform, MOTOFONE is the first of a new breed of handsets designed to disrupt today's communications landscape by cutting across price tiers, product segments and international markets. MOTOFONE is expected to redefine the mobile phone market place and strengthen Motorola's drive to connect the next billion mobile phone users.

Leadership in IP Delivery of Ultra-Broadband

Motorola's Connected Home Solutions will demonstrate the Ultra-Broadband technologies that offer cost-effective access to video and voice through IP, cable, or a hybrid for operators and customers.

Mobile TV

Motorola will showcase the latest DVB-H enabled handsets currently being used in its Mobile TV trial with PCCW in Hong Kong. Visitors to the Motorola booth will see the wide selection of channels, crystal clear audio and video coupled with a host of interactive services such as games, ring tones and more.

Experience Zones Demonstrate Motorola's Industry Leadership

Motorola will also showcase three Experience Zones to help customers, analysts and media to better understand Motorola's latest products and services that make it the total telecom and broadband solutions provider. In our wireless broadband environments, we demonstrate some of the ways in which MOTOwi4 TM solutions can enrich seamless experiences.

In our Home Zone, we demonstrate a Canopy subscriber unit providing a low cost, fixed broadband connection to the home. For large apartment buildings or offices, we show how the Canopy unit can be directly connected to our Broadband over Powerline gateway to deliver Internet connections through the building's electric lines to every outlet in the building. In the Airport Zone we demonstrate our WAP 400 series WiMAX access point with MIMO, showcasing broadband Internet access and rich media streaming as well as video telephony enabled by an IMS empowered IP converged core. In addition to WiMAX we demonstrate Mesh Metro Wi-Fi solutions that can blanket entire cities with broadband coverage as well as wireless point-to-point solutions for effective bridging and backhauling applications. In the Internet Cafe we provide access to voice, data and streaming media using cost effective, highly integrated, OFDM based systems. Additionally, we demonstrate the Expedience platform, comprising fully integrated OFDM base stations, offering high-performing, proven technology in the licensed broadband wireless bands. By connecting to an IMS empowered converged core, this demonstration features seamless, inter-technology voice and video sessions between our MOTOwi4 and CDMA systems.
