mUrgent goes down under to Australia30 December 2004
California-based mUrgent Corporation is aggressively expanding its global footprint, opening offices in Brisbane, Australia, under the name mUrgent Australasia, according to Boris Bugarski, president and CEO.
"The Australian market is modest in comparison with the U.S. market, but is renowned for its high uptake of technology-based solutions," says Bugarski. "We will initially focus on the east coast, but plan to move into Singapore and Malaysia by 3rd quarter."
mUrgent introduced EMPACT, the first e-marketing automation software to combine e-mail and wireless messaging, in Australia this spring and said that it found that businesses were receptive to the product. The company is currently working with mUrgent's resellers, including Ingram Micro, to establish widespread distribution of EMPACT in Australia. mUrgent also said it is developing a field sales force to pursue targeted geographic regions and vertical market segments including professional service providers, financial and insurance businesses. The EMPACT tool itself will be used to deliver mUrgent services to these markets.
"Since 2000, the number of small to medium-sized businesses in Australia using email and SMS messaging to increase the frequency and quality of customer contact has increased exponentially. Our EMPACT software package will enable any Australian company to customize and personalize its wireless communications campaigns quickly and cost-efficiently," says Bugarski.
