MEDIA RELEASE 28 March 2006 New Zealand s fastestbroadband plans - now you can surf for longer The fastestbroadband plans in New Zealand just got better. TelstraClear announced new plans today that will see anincrease to traffic allowances and a decrease in additionalusage rates. The new plans, available to homes onTelstraClear s network in Wellington and Christchurch, rangein traffic size from an entry-level HighSpeed 1GB plan,through to the aptly named LightSpeed 80G. TelstraClearHead of Consumer Markets Steve Jackson says the new plansprovide better value for money, allowing customers to choosea plan with vastly increased traffic allowances - with noincrease in price. "TelstraClear s new plans will suit allcustomers needs, with HighSpeed 1GB, 5, 10 and 20GB, andLightSpeed 40GB and 80GB plans", he says. TelstraClear sLightSpeed 40GB and LightSpeed 80GB plans offer downloadspeeds of up to 10MB/S - almost three times as fast as thoseother competitors will offer. This provides superior speedand quality for surfing the Internet, downloading music andvideos and playing online games. Mr Jackson sayscustomers who signed up for HighSpeed and LightSpeed plansfrom November last year will automatically get the upgradeto the new plans. "Those customers don t need to doanything. Come tomorrow they ll notice everything gets alot faster and they can surf even more." "Customers on theHighSpeed 200MB plan will automatically be upgraded toHighSpeed 1GB, while our largest plan previously, LightSpeed20GB, has now been increased to 80GB, for the same price,"he says. TelstraClear s broadband plans are part of atriple play package with telephone line rental anddigital/cable TV. Most of these plans can be purchasedseparately. TelstraClear s InHome telephone line rentalwill stay at $31.95 per month - even though Telecom recentlyincreased its line rentals in the Wellington, Kapiti andChristchurch areas to $34.80 per month. Line rental in theWellington, Kapiti and Christchurch areas is lower than therest of New Zealand because TelstraClear provides a choice. TelstraClear s new digital television service, launchedlast August, offers high quality sound and picture across 92television, radio and pay to view channels.
