Sprint Strategy and Solutions Making a Difference With Business Customers

14 December 2004

Sprint today announced a series of recently signed contracts that demonstrate demand
for the company's bundled wireless and wireline services.
The agreements call for Sprint to deliver IP (Internet protocol)-driven and multi-product solutions to solve unique business challenges -- from providing five-digit wireless calling to virtually instantaneous "walkie-talkie"-style communications. Sprint continues to gain traction on plans announced last month to emphasize sales of wireless, IP and multi-product solutions in the business marketplace and reduce courting stand-alone long-distance customers.

"These agreements reflect the trends we have seen in business communications priorities," said Tom McEvoy, president - Enterprise Markets, Sprint. "They are evidence that our strategy -- focusing on bringing high-growth wireless, voice and data services together -- resonates with customers and can help them solve real business challenges."

Agreements announced today:
-- Spirit Airlines - Local, long distance and wireless bundle takes
flight: Spirit Airlines, the largest privately held airline in the
United States, is using an extensive bundle of new services from Sprint
to help it achieve its goals in service, price leadership and
operational efficiency. The company is deploying Sprint PCS Ready
Link(SM) devices throughout its domestic locations for the virtually
instant communications it needs to help maintain its "on-time"
standards that are ranked among the best in the industry. The company
is also using wireless voice and data "smart devices" to deliver
real-time information to its most mobile employees, test new wireless
logistics and tracking services, and connect its people to critical
information through encrypted, secure wireless connections. Sprint is
also providing domestic and international frame relay and Internet data
services as well as long-distance and backup network services to
selected airports and major cities as Spirit continues its expansion
into the Caribbean and Latin America regions.

-- Abanco - Wireless Payments: A new three-year agreement with Abanco
International, LLC will make life easier for those who conduct business
in the field by allowing them to accept credit-card payments at the
point of sale utilizing Sprint's wireless network. For the first time,
Abanco, a leading provider of electronic payment solutions to
merchants, will offer a wireless credit-card payment option to its
merchant customers using Sprint's CDMA wireless network. For example,
a plumber making a house call could simply swipe the customers' credit
card on site using a wireless credit-card machine -- transaction
complete. In addition, under an existing agreement, Sprint provides
Abanco a full suite of products including local, long-distance and
data.

-- McDermott, Will and Emery - Connecting Lawyers on the Move: McDermott,
Will and Emery, an international law firm, has selected Sprint to
deliver wireless voice devices, wireless data connection cards,
dedicated and dial IP connectivity, and long-distance services. Sprint
is delivering innovative wireless services that will enable McDermott,
Will and Emery associates to use five-digit dialing from wireless
phones to connect with each other, just as they do in their offices.
Ultimately, this will enable uninterrupted transferring of calls
between wireless phones and office phones. Attorneys will also use
Sprint PCS Connection Cards(TM) to remotely access the company intranet
and important client documents, meaning business won't stop just
because someone is away from their desk. Sprint currently provides
service to 40 of the 50 largest law firms in the United States.
