Teneros Extends Email and Data Protection to the Mobile Enterprise With New Application Continuity Appliance Series

11 November 2006

Microsoft Exchange Connections, Booth #406 -- Teneros has added peripheral application integration to its line of Application Continuity Appliances (ACAs) with the launch of the iSeries. The new iSeries appliances, introduced today, integrate with the popular mobile and archiving applications running in Microsoft Exchange environments, including Blackberry, Goodlink, Microsoft Mobile, KVS and Iron Mountain. The mobile and archiving integration is also available as a valuable upgrade for existing Teneros customers.

The iSeries, like all Teneros appliances, enables mid-market enterprises to deploy a comprehensive, cost-effective email continuity solution for mission-critical Microsoft Exchange. With the Teneros Plug-and-Go(TM) architecture, the appliance is up and running in approximately 15 minutes because it requires no intrusive software installations or configuration changes for the Exchange server or network infrastructure.

The Teneros iSeries offers the following models:

ACA 2500i -- supports up to 250 users and a 100 GB mail store

ACA 5000i -- supports up to 500 users and a 300 GB mail store

ACA 7500i -- supports up to 750 users and a 500 GB mail store

The iSeries appliances are easily upgradeable to accommodate more users or a higher capacity mail store. If a customer purchases an ACA 2500i, they can upgrade to any of the higher capacity models as their business grows. This is a simple process managed by the Teneros Network Operations Center.

"If mobile email access goes down, it can bring the productivity of our mobile workers to a dead stop, so being able to provide continuous access is extremely important to us," said Willie Cumming, Director of IT for financial services firm, Strome Group. "The Teneros iSeries is exactly what we needed. It's affordable and easy to install, and because it integrates with our Blackberry server, if the Exchange server goes down, the Teneros appliance will prevent literally thousands of dollars in lost transactions per hour."

"As more and more workers across all industries use their mobile devices to access email around the clock, the need for cost-effective email continuity solutions providing remote access 24x7 will continue to grow," said analyst David Ferris of Ferris Research. "By offering this capability in a simple appliance format, Teneros has a critical solution for the market."

In addition to mobile communication and archiving application integration, key features and benefits of the iSeries include:

Zero downtime -- Teneros Instant-On Failover technology assures that end-

users always have complete, continuous, email functionality and data

access during planned downtime or failure of the Exchange server.

Non-intrusive operation -- Teneros appliances are the only continuity

solution that requires no configuration of, modification to, or

additional software on the Exchange primary server.

Plug & Go(TM) installation -- Teneros appliances require no Microsoft

Exchange expertise, can be installed in approximately 15 minutes and are

remotely monitored and maintained.

Data corruption protection -- Transactional Integrity Validation(TM),

Teneros' proprietary, real-time data verification technology, prevents

Exchange data corruption from being replicated on the appliance.

Reliability -- Teneros appliances provide 99.99%-99.999% uptime for

Microsoft Exchange through the Teneros Always-On(TM) availability

platform.

Affordability -- The iSeries is priced comparably to a provisional

Exchange server and adds no IT cost because of the remote, 24x7

management, update and monitoring service provided by Teneros' network

operations center.

"Our charter at Teneros is to provide full function email communications and data access within seconds of an Exchange failure, and the iSeries extends that protection to the mobile workers within the enterprise," said CEO Steve Lewis. "The reality of today's world is that a tremendous amount of business is conducted on mobile devices outside of the office, so now our customers can be assured of email and data access, no matter where they are."

The Teneros iSeries supports Outlook 2003, Outlook 2002/XP, Outlook 2000 and Outlook Web Access clients. It supports Exchange 2003 (SP1 or SP2), provides full support for network link aggregation via IEEE 802.3ad and has built-in virus protection based on the award-winning Sophos(TM) anti-virus technology.
