Top Telecommunications Sales Executive Named VP of Sales at NextPhase Wireless1 February 2005
NextPhase Wireless (OTCBB:NXPW), an emerging national service provider of wireless broadband connectivity and turnkey wireless solutions, today named John Nelson as Vice President of Sales. His appointment follows the announcement last week of Robert Ford as the new Chief Executive Officer of the company.
Prior to joining NextPhase, Nelson was the Regional Sales Manager (West Coast) for Alvarion, where he was responsible for the sale of broadband wireless products to utilities, IOCs, WISPs, municipalities, CLECs and private enterprise customers.
He has more than 20 years' experience in the telecommunications industry with companies such as Alcatel and MCI, where he was responsible for sales of carrier infrastructure and networking hardware solutions in a wide variety of markets. Nelson said his first order of business will be to tap into the strategic relationships he has built over his extensive career.
Nelson said he joined NextPhase because he sees a huge need for a high quality professional services company that is able to deliver turnkey wireless solutions.
"There is a gap in the industry right now, particularly on the West Coast, and NextPhase has the technical proficiency and strategic alliances to provide sustainable solutions. I know the demand is there and I know NextPhase will take care of its customers. That's an ideal combination for anyone in sales."
CEO Robert Ford, who recently joined the company after a career in technology management at DuPont, concurred with Nelson's assessment. "We are dedicated to delivering what we promise, and John epitomizes this value. It is rare to find a person who is so respected in the industry for his business knowledge, passion for customer service and broad technical expertise. This is a great opportunity for NextPhase and for organizations that want wireless solutions that work."
