Vigilante Personal Protection Systems Introduces 32 Zone Do-It-Yourself Wireless Security14 December 2005
Vigilante Personal Protection Systems™ will begin U.S. shipments in March 2006 of two models of security systems designed to provide affordable security protection for homes, apartments, and small businesses. Easy «Do-It-Yourself» wireless installation, and the included emergency phone dialer eliminate a consumer's need for expensive professional installation and typical monthly monitoring fees.
The systems, designed for quick no-tool installation, will provide any home or small business with the ability to secure doors, windows, and provide motion detection at a fraction of the cost of a custom installed security system. «Our wireless systems eliminate the need for expensive installations.» said David Happe, President of Vigilante Personal Protection Systems. «And, our emergency dialing system eliminates the need for expensive monthly monitoring, which is the profit center for most existing professional security installers. The more affordable we can make our systems, the more people our systems can protect.»
According to a study completed by Dallas based research firm Parks Associates, roughly 21% of homes in the United States had existing home security systems in 2004. That number is expected to grow to nearly 29% by the end of the decade, creating the potential for 8,800,000 new home security installations across the country. «The average customer investment for mass market residential systems is $525, based on data provided by Security Sales and Integration Magazine's 2005 Annual Business Report» said Happe. «Most of those customers also pay monthly monitoring service fees that can exceed $30 a month. Vigilante's new wireless systems give you complete home protection at a fraction of the cost, and without the required monthly monitoring fee or contracts that accompany the old industry's type of home security systems.»
The DX1000, with a suggested retail of $149, is a wireless starter package including everything you need for basic home and small business security. The central controller for the DX1000 features a 6-number voice dialer, programmable to dial up to 6 contacts in the event of an alarm or emergency. The control unit also features backlit keys, an LCD screen for system zone control and status updates, and integrated 110db alarm, and battery backup. The system allows up to 32 separate control zones (30 wireless and 2 hardwired). Included with the basic DX1000 package is the central controller, 2 wireless door/window sensors, a wireless motion detector, a keychain wireless remote control, and installation accessories. Installation is simple, with no wiring and no tools necessary.
The DX5000 includes all of the features and accessories of the DX1000, plus 2 additional door/window sensors (total of 4), plus 1 additional motion detector, a 110db wireless external siren and full function remote control. The DX5000 is also monitoring-capable in case customers want the added security option of affordable professional monitoring.
A full line of optional accessories converts either system to a complete home automation system. The V101 wireless lamp module allows you to control lamps and outlets from a remote location, while the V102 wireless light switch allows you to control your overhead lights without rewiring your home. TheV103 appliance module gives you wireless control over home appliances such as coffee makers, while the V133 outdoor adaptor gives you the ability to extend your system to outside applications such as yard lights. All functions of the system can be controlled remotely via. telephone using a password (PIN) protected system.
Both the DX1000 and DX5000 wireless systems are expected to launch at selected specialty retailers in April, with several additional security products launching quarterly throughout 2006. Retailers interested in learning more about Vigilante's complete line of home and personal security products should call 866-664-CCTV to schedule a private appointment at the upcoming Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas in January 2006.
