Viking InterWorks(TM) and Mindspeed(R) Announce a Complete 'Office-in-a-Box' Wireless Router, VPN and VoIP Solution

12 March 2006

Viking InterWorks, Inc., a Sanmina-SCI Company (Nasdaq: SANM) and designer and manufacturer of memory modules, today announced the availability of the VRS product family, an off-the-shelf, office-in-a-box platform based on the Comcerto(TM) 800 voice and data processor.

This platform addresses the integrated services requirements of small- to medium-size business (SMB) and Enterprise users and is configured with:

-- 1x 10/100 Ethernet WAN or ADSL 2+ FXO

-- 4x 10/100 Ethernet LAN

-- 802.11 b/g WiFi or 802.16 WiMAX

-- 4x or 8x FXS POTS

-- USB port

-- NIST-certified IPSec VPN

Additionally, Viking InterWorks can deliver customized hardware in as little as 16 weeks from receipt of a specification, including T1/E1, FTTx and cable variants. The VRS product family of platforms provide Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), Channel Partner and Service Providers immediate access to new revenue streams generated by new applications based on the convergence of data and voice in a single appliance.

Mindspeed's OpenMind(TM) developer ecosystem is the first program to bring these new applications together with the scalable architecture and deterministic performance of Mindspeed's Comcerto 800 processor. The Comcerto 800 series of devices include data only and VoIP versions scaling up to a T1/E1 density of complex voice channels, such as G.729, G.726 and G.723, in addition to G.711. Mindspeed offers full indemnification and licensing of these codecs.

"The VRS product family represents an evolutionary offering in our line of VoIP enabling platforms," said Donald F. Coffin, Marketing Manager, DSP Products for Viking InterWorks. "The Comcerto 800 processor's flexibility and scalability fits perfectly into our modular solutions."

"We are pleased to extend our Viking InterWorks relationship, taking full advantage of the flexibility and scalability of the Comcerto product line," said Preet Virk, Vice President and Business Director for Mindspeed. "With Viking InterWorks' VRS product family we are able to immediately address the exploding interest in both semi-custom and off-the-shelf Comcerto 800 solutions allowing our customers to get to market quickly."

Mindspeed's Comcerto architecture is optimized for Enterprise routing, VPN and VoIP applications. Deterministic performance and Quality of Service (QoS) are guaranteed by the architectural design of the Comcerto series offering wire-speed routing and carrier-class voice quality which has been proven through global deployment. All Comcerto devices are software API and pin compatible, allowing designers to quickly deploy new products while reusing their software and hardware investments.

The VRS products will be shown at CeBIT held in Hannover, Germany, March 9-15, 2006, in the Mindspeed booth (Hall 14, Stand F15), at the Wavesat stand in the WiMAX Forum (Hall 13, Stand D35) and at the Voice on the Net (VON) Conference and Exhibition held in San Jose, California, March 14-17, 2006, in the Mindspeed booth (# 635) and Viking InterWorks' booth (# 1336).
