VoEx International to Materially Participate at Iraq's Telecom Conference

20 July 2005

VoEx International LLC, a leading provider and innovative designer of global telecommunications & wireless solutions and a leading provider of worldwide Voice over IP telephony and network services, announced today that its Chief Strategy Officer Dr. Asaad Y. Alnajjar will be heading this week the delegation to participate in the forthcoming Iraq Telecommunications Conference taking place in London July 21-22, 2005.

The conference will focus on bringing telecom decision makers, vendors, executives, financiers, and GSM operators together to discuss license renewal, technology adoption, new routes for Iraq’s communications infrastructure, design-build process, standards setting, and regulations. Participants will be given the opportunity to meet with and hear from other major telecommunications players, as well as display relevant case studies that can be used as benchmarks for Iraq’s future. Senior officials from the Iraqi Ministry of Communication have already confirmed their involvement, in addition to numerous other representatives from major telecom companies and organizations.

Dr. Asaad Y. Alnajjar stated "Over the past years, VoEx International has been very active in the design and implementation of GSM, CDMA and iDen mobile networks and products, 3G & UMTS upgrades, WCDMA/ WLL design and installations, satellite voice and data communications, WiMax and last mile effective WiFi solutions. In addition, VoEx executives have been extremely involved in the development and growth of Wireless products, solutions, connectivity and applications to expedite the deployment of these networks with the Middle East Region as part of the global evolution. VoEx team has presented in many global settings white papers and solutions that helped to achieve our advancements today."

Dr. Alnajjar will shed light on the region’s most used technologies, market evolution in the MENA region, address the applications which will be most beneficial to the development and growth of the Iraq’s telecommunications, and describe some of the concepts that could expedite the telecom build out in Iraq. VoEx delegates will participate in discussions on the structurization and regulation of Iraq’s expanding telecom infrastructure.

For the past 2 years, VoEx has played a distinguished role in providing multiple channels of communication to the newly liberated Iraq. Through advanced satellite technology, VoEx has supplied many major corporations, call centers, and internet cafes throughout Baghdad with high-speed internet connectivity and excellent long-distance services utilizing its enhanced VoIP network. In 2004, as part of a strategic partnership with Boeing Satellite, VoEx began the marketing and distribution of “Thuraya” Satellite-GSM phones, allowing individuals throughout Iraq to make affordable mobile telephone calls to anywhere in the world. Furthermore, the top management of VoEx continues to provide many services to Iraq’s government, private sectors, and individuals.

Dr. Alnajjar & VoEx Team has been very active in the research and development of communications and information technology over the past ten years. His work has included extensive research in WLL networks, WiMAX development, multilingual Internet and .IQ management, e164/eNum and DNS resolution, IP based products and applications, and the evolution of communications standards and policies.

Last January 2005, Dr. Alnajjar presented in London at the Iraqi Wireless conference the advantages of WLL for Iraq's telecom future and touched on the advanced data capabilities that will serve the community in a short time. Further, Dr. Alnajjar has given recently in Cairo last May 2005 an extensive speech to the Arab & African Ministers of Telecom addressing telecom advancement in the Middle East and has been consulted regularly on issues related to regulations in Iraq.

In conclusion, Dr. Alnajjar stated "We were among the runner ups in the first GSM license bids in 2003 known as 'Zagil' and we are very eager now to participate in this one to better serve the Iraqi consumer needs. During the past 19 months the Iraqi consumer did not get the expected mobile services and hopefully the upcoming providers will deliver a more enhanced network. If VoEx is granted a license then we will deliver the best network to be ever built and to expedite the rebuilding of New Iraq."
