Western DataCom Executive Travel Communications Case12 September 2005
Western DataCom has designed a portable Internet communications case for traveling executives and government officials for secure connectivity to their offices by voice, video and data. The Executive Travel Case (ETC) can set-up a wired or wireless LAN “hot spot” that is automatically connected to the Internet or to a US Government IP network. The wireless LAN hot spot provides 802.11b/g connections and the automatic Internet connections are made with CDMA or GSM cellular modems. The ETC offers both NIST (FIPS-140-2) and NSA (HAIPE) approved cryptographic solutions; keeping the executive’s communications secure.
The main internetworking component of the ETC is the Cisco 3200 Mobile Access Router (MAR). The MAR provides for automatic Virtual Private Network (VPN) connections through the Internet for secure voice (VoIP), video and data transmissions. These Internet VPN connections are secured by the Western DataCom IPE-10M Internet encryptor.
The case dimensions are 6 inches high x 12 inches wide x 12 inches deep, weighing approximately 10 pounds without battery back-up and 12 pounds with battery operation.
