Wide Area Wireless Synchronization Now Available with IQMax™ Mobile Healthcare Solutions

18 April 2005

IQMax, Inc., a leading provider of mobile healthcare solutions announced today the immediate availability of wide area wireless synchronization support for their suite of PDA applications. Wireless carriers have aggressively expanded their wide area data networks (WANs) to include increased bandwidth. These upgraded networks now provide the performance demanded by healthcare professionals for rapid transmission and synchronization of data from their WAN enabled Pocket PC and Palm™ OS based PDAs.

By necessity, many physicians and other care givers must provide patient care at multiple locations. When physicians are not in the same facilities as their patients, access to clinical results, schedules, census changes and communications with other physicians must be handled either verbally over the phone or delayed until they have access to the needed data. Efficient and timely communications can be further hampered by disparate IT systems and the network infrastructure in various healthcare facilities.

“A here-to-fore unanswered challenge has been providing access and the resulting patient care responses to current clinical results when the provider is away from the patient’s location.” says Paul Adkison, CEO of IQMax. “Our current patient centric, mobile solutions enhanced with WAN connectivity will significantly improve the work flow of care givers without regard to time or location.”

With IQMax solutions and WAN connectivity, providers can now stay current with their inpatient census and outpatients schedules, and with IQRounds, they have immediate access to current inpatient clinical results. When documentation is required, clinicians can dictate and capture encounter charges and synchronize this information anywhere, anytime with IQSpeak® and IQCharge™. If a prescription is required, the physician will be able to instantly transmit an electronic prescription with IQScript that has been checked against the applicable formulary with IQFormulary.

WAN connectivity enables the facility and providers to “stay in touch” virtually anywhere, anytime. The IQMax IQAnywhere mobile platform implemented in conjunction with WAN connectivity provides a robust, secure solution to enhance the delivery of patient care while improving provider’s accessibility and productivity.

Broadband WAN connectivity is not currently available everywhere so consult your wireless carrier for availability or contact IQMax for service areas and supported PDA devices.
