Wireless Matrix Inks Contract Extensions With Energy Customers9 February 2007
Wireless Matrix Corporation (TSX: WRX) announced today that it has signed service contract extensions with two existing energy customers, with a combined value of over $2 Million for hardware and services over the next twenty four months. Kinder Morgan's Retail Natural Gas Distribution business, a Wireless Matrix customer since 2002, has signed a two-year contract extension for their existing Mobile Base Station 2 (MBS2) deployment. Kinder Morgan's U.S. Retail business currently utilizes approximately 350 Wireless Matrix Mobile Base Station 2 (MBS2) units for remote workforce management. The MBS2 is a vehicle-mounted communications unit that integrates broadband, satellite, 802.11 and GPS capabilities. Kinder Morgan is one of the largest energy transportation, storage and distribution companies in North America. Wireless Matrix also signed a two-year contract extension with a second existing customer. A regional energy company, they have been a Wireless Matrix customer since 2003.
