Yangtze Telecom Announces Strategic Partnership to Launch Wireless Directory and Search13 January 2005
Yangtze Telecom Corp. (TSX.V: SMS) today announces that it has entered into a strategic partnership with China Information Industry Net (CNII), an authoritative news agency in China's telecommunications industry, to launch a wireless directory system and mobile search engine. The service, developed by Yangtze's wholly owned subsidiary, Wuhan Chenxi Technology Company, will be jointly promoted to consumer mobile phone users throughout China.
The new service will allow consumers to access a directory of businesses in specific locations using their mobile phones. Similar to yellow page directories, the service is a cost effective way for businesses to reach consumers.
"This is the first step in building a wireless directory to support a mobile search engine using mobile phones. With the support of CNII, we believe we will be successful in building the first commercially viable mobile directory and search engine in China," said Liu Gang, CEO of Chengxi.

As part of the marketing strategy, Yangtze and CNII are developing independent agents in provinces across China to promote the wireless directory service. Currently, there are agents signed up in several provinces with 15 agents expected to be signed on by the end of January. CNII will also be marketing the service through its website, newspapers and other media outlets across China.
